Soulful Artistry Unveiled

Easton Blues paints the pulse of jazz and blues in every brushstroke, capturing late-night moods.

Easton Davy: The Visual Rhythm of Jazz

Easton Davy is a world-renowned multi-disciplinary artist who has spent over 25 years translating the improvisational spirit of jazz into vibrant visual narratives. Born in the Bronx to Jamaican parents and raised in the rural landscapes of Montrose, Pennsylvania, Easton’s work sits at the unique intersection of Caribbean heritage, New York energy, and the soulful depth of American Jazz and Blues.

A Legacy of Music-Inspired Art

Easton is widely recognized as a pioneer in music-inspired artwork. His career is a testament to the synergy between sound and sight, having spent 17 years performing live painting at major American and European Jazz festivals. His ability to capture the "voodoo" and intellectual energy of a live performance has made him a favorite among critics and collectors alike.

His portfolio includes prestigious collaborations such as:

Blue Note Records & Beyond: Easton has a prolific history of designing Jazz and Blues CD covers, including iconic work for Blue Note Records. His art captures the essence of the recordings, bridging the gap between auditory and visual expression.

FKA Twigs: Designing custom artwork for the celebrated performance artist.

Commercial Media: His work has been featured by the NBA, the BRAVO Television Network, and JazzTimes magazine.

High-Fashion Collaboration: Wearable Art

Beyond the canvas, Easton has expanded his vision into the world of high fashion. He is currently collaborating with the avant-garde Dutch brand Mascolori, designing a signature line of jazz-inspired fashion. This collection includes vibrant sneakers, shoes, belts, and shirts that bring his signature collage style and bold use of color to the wardrobe. His hand-painted Mascolori designs first debuted at the North Sea Jazz Festival, turning shoes into high-end "artworks for your feet" that celebrate African-American heritage and musical soul.

Evolution & Technique

While Easton has mastered various media—from silkscreen prints to sculpture—his recent work marks a return to his roots. During the 2021 lockdowns, inspired by the transformative methods of Andy Warhol, Easton began a new series of mixed-medium collages. Working on top of reproductions to create one-of-a-kind originals, these pieces are often created on antique dictionary pages and watercolors.

Currently, Easton has "set up shop" as a creative squatter on the beaches of Nevis, where the Caribbean landscape fuels his daily practice. His work serves as a vital visual dialogue, highlighting the authentic reality of Caribbean societies and the profound importance of Jazz and Blues in African American heritage.
